 Morning Prayer at Home

O Lord, open our lips
and our mouth shall proclaim your praise.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son
And the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning is now
and shall be for ever. Amen

Bless the Lord all you works of the Lord;
sing his praise and exalt him for ever.

Bless the Lord you heavens;
sing his praise and exult him for ever:

Bless the Lord you angels of the Lord;
sing his praise and exult him for ever:

Bless the Lord all people on earth;
sing his praise and exult him forever:

Bless the Lord all you priest of the Lord;
sing his praise and exult him forever:

Bless the Lord all you servants of the Lord;
sing his praise and exult him forever:

Bless the Lord all you of upright spirit;
Bless the Lord you that are holy and humble in heart:

Bless the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit;
sing his praise and exult him forever.

The night has passed and the day lies open before us:
let us pray with one heart and mind.

Silence is kept.

As we rejoice in the gift of this new day,
so may the light of your presence, O God,
set our hearts on fire with love for you;
now and forever.
Amen.

Psalm of the day.

New Testaments reading

If you have a hymn perhaps you would like to play one here.

Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead.
And Christ will give you light.
You have died and your life is hid with Christ in God
Arise, O sleeper, and arise from the dead.
set your minds on things that are above,
not on things that are on this earth.
And Christ shall give you light.
When Christ our life appears
you will appear with him in glory.
Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead,
and Christ shall give you light.

Psalm 75

We give you thanks, O God we give you thanks,
for your name is near, as your wonderful deeds declare.

I will seize the appointed time;
I, the Lord, will judge with equity.

Though the earth reels and all that dwells in her,
it is I that hold her pillars steady.

But God alone is Judge;
he puts down one and raises up another,

For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup
well mixed and full of foaming wine.

He pours it out for all the wicked of the earth
and they shall drink it, and drain the dregs.

But I will rejoice for ever
and makes music to the God of Jacob.

All the horns of the wicked will I break
but the horn of the righteous shall be exulted.

We give thanks, O God we give you thanks,
for your name is near, as your wonderful deeds declare.

Prayers.

Let's pray for our community, for those who are sick, struggling and lonely.
Those who are afraid and those who are thankful for all that is around us.
For the beauty of sea, hills and sky and the freedom to walk where we desire.
Let us remember those in our towns and cities who have no such open spaces, gardens or parks.
Children who are living in flats, poor or close housing.
Those living in abusive relationships particularly at this time.

Let us pray for our schools and this present disruption.
Teachers who are struggling to to both teach children who are in
school and those who are being taught at home. Also their safety.
Parents who are trying to meet the challenge.

Let us remember before God those who are working so hard to bring to an end this terrible crisis.
For the hope the vaccine is bringing
and all those who are working so hard to develop and distribute it.
We give thanks for all the centres that are opening.

We pray for our God given world. Let us repent at the destruction humanity has wrought.
Help us to seek ways where we play our part in its preservation and wholeness.

Silence as we reflect on our prayers.

Lord's Prayer

  Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power, and the glory
for ever and ever.

Amen
