Whicham St Mary is a pretty grade 2 listed church just off the A595 at the mouth of the Whicham Valley. It is at the start of a popular path up Black Combe. The churchyard is particularly spectacular in spring, when it is filled with snowdrops, crocus and daffodils.

The congregation is mainly drawn from the villages of Silecroft and Kirksanton as well as from the farms and houses of the Whicham Valley. We aim to be a friendly, welcoming congregation.

The normal pattern of services is:

  • First Sunday: Holy Communion at 11.00am
  • Second Sunday: Evening Prayer, 6.00pm in the Summer or 4.00pm in the Winter (when the clocks change)
  • Third Sunday: Family friendly service at 11.00am
See the Forthcoming Services for a full schedule
