Our Family Services

Our Family Services are designed to be fun for all the family.

They are usually held at Whicham Church at 11.00am on the 3rd Sunday of the month and at Whitbeck Church on the 4th Sunday.

The Whicham service lasts about 30-40 minutes and includes songs, activities and a story.  The Whitbeck service is a Family Communion service.

This year we have have celebrated:

Rogation (blessing the fields and crops) by planting beans.

Holidays (from the old English "Holy" - "Day" for special religious days) by looking at the local places that people come to for holidays.

New Beginnings by thinking of various new events, like starting a new school.  The reading was about Zacchius, so we hung the cards from a branch to remind us that Zacchaeus climed a tree to see Jesus.
